At this year's Lange Nacht der Technik in Zwickau on June 19, 2026, Computer Science at WHZ and MK Logic GmbH will jointly present a special collaboration project: the TENSOR::BYTE CLUB booth. Visitors can look forward to an exciting combination of creative programming, visual art, and electronic music.
The TENSOR::BYTE CLUB invites visitors on an interactive journey into the world of creative coding. In the Live Coding Express Academy, participants can gain their first hands-on experience and discover how code is created and transformed in real time. The program is complemented by hourly live coding performances, where source code directly becomes visual art and electronic music.
The live coding activities will take place in the Technikum building of the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau (WHZ), on the 2nd floor in Room 208, offering fascinating insights into modern forms of digital creativity.
A special highlight of the evening will be a performance by Pondskater. Behind this artist name is Düsseldorf-based musician Axel Ganz, who has been active in the field of generative sound art for many years and is recognized as one of the prominent figures in the live coding scene. His performances combine algorithmically generated electronic music with live, visible source code programming. Rhythmic structures, synthesizers, acoustic percussion, and experimental sound elements merge into unique soundscapes that bridge the gap between club culture and digital art.

Once again this year, we will be participating as a sponsor at the Z-Wave EMEA Summit. As the only European test house, we will of course also be present on site and look forward to engaging with partners and customers.
Over the course of three days, the summit brings together manufacturers, integrators, and industry experts from the smart home and IoT sectors to collaboratively work on next-generation technologies, standards, and partnerships.
The event kicks off on Wednesday with the “Unplug Fest,” featuring hands-on interoperability testing, followed by a welcome reception in the evening. On Thursday, a full day of sessions will cover key topics such as market trends, the Cyber Resilience Act, Z-Wave Long Range, energy management, and open source, complemented by panels, presentations, and the Z-Wave Alliance Awards.
Friday is dedicated to collaboration within the Alliance: working groups and sessions will focus on advancing the Z-Wave ecosystem and actively shaping the future of the technology.

On June 18th, we held our annual summer event. After fueling up with a hearty breakfast, we split into two teams and set out on a quest through Zwickau to catch a master thief.
Equipped with tablets and numerous clues provided by Escape Zwickau, the outdoor escape event led us from the Platz der Völkerfreundschaft through the city center, ending in front of the Zwickau town hall. Both teams successfully identified the thief and received agent passes. The winning team even achieved a perfect score, securing second place in Escape Zwickau's overall rankings.
